Prayer for Protection from the Wicked.
1 1Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my 2groaning.
2
Heed 3the sound of my cry for help, 4my King and my God, For to You I pray.
3
In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the 5morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly 6watch.
4
For You are not a God 7who takes pleasure in wickedness; 8No evil dwells with You.
5
The 9boastful shall not 10stand before Your eyes; You 11hate all who do iniquity.
6
You 12destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors 13the man of bloodshed and deceit.
7
But as for me, 14by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house, At Your holy temple I will 15bow in 16reverence for You.
8
O LORD, 17lead me 18in Your righteousness 19because of my foes; Make Your way straight before me.
9
There is 20nothing reliable in what they say; Their 21inward part is destruction itself. Their 22throat is an open grave; They flatter with their tongue.
10
Hold them guilty, O God; 23By their own devices let them fall! In the multitude of their transgressions 24thrust them out, For they are 25rebellious against You.
11
But let all who 26take refuge in You 27be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And may You 28shelter them, That those who 29love Your name may exult in You.
12
For it is You who 30blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You 31surround him with favor as with a shield.
