Godly Living

1Remind them 2to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be 3ready for every good deed,
to malign no one, 4to be peaceable, 5gentle, 6showing every consideration for all men.
7For we also once were foolish ourselves, 8disobedient, 9deceived, 10enslaved to 11various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in 12malice and 13envy, hateful, hating one another.
But when the 14kindness of 15God our Savior and His love for mankind 16appeared,
17He saved us, 18not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but 19according to His mercy, by the 20washing of regeneration and 21renewing by the Holy Spirit,
22whom He poured out upon us 23richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that being justified by His grace we would be made 24heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
25This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I 26want you to speak confidently, so that those who have 27believed God will be careful to 28engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.
But 29avoid 30foolish controversies and 31genealogies and strife and 32disputes about the Law, for they are 33unprofitable and worthless.
34Reject a 35factious man 36after a first and second warning,
knowing that such a man is 37perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.

Personal Concerns

When I send Artemas or 38Tychicus to you, 39make every effort to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to 40spend the winter there.
Diligently help Zenas the 41lawyer and 42Apollos on their way so that nothing is lacking for them.
43Our people must also learn to 44engage in good deeds to meet 45pressing needs, so that they will not be 46unfruitful.
47All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us 48in the faith. 49Grace be with you all.
