The Revelation of Jesus Christ

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which 1God gave Him to 2show to His bond-servants, 3the things which must soon take place; and He sent and [a]communicated it 4by His angel to His bond-servant 5John,
who testified to 6the word of God and to 7the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.
8Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and [b]heed the things which are written in it; 9for the time is near.

Message to the Seven Churches

10John to 11the seven churches that are in 12Asia: 13Grace to you and peace, from 14Him who is and who was and who [c]is to come, and from 15the seven Spirits who are before His throne,
and from Jesus Christ, 16the faithful witness, the 17firstborn of the dead, and the 18ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who 19loves us and released us from our sins [d]by His blood -
and He has made us to be a 20kingdom, 21priests to [e]22His God and Father -23to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
24BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and 25every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will 26mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.
"I am 27the Alpha and the Omega," says the 28Lord God, "29who is and who was and who [f]is to come, the Almighty."

The Patmos Vision

30I, John, your 31brother and 32fellow partaker in the tribulation and 33kingdom and [g]34perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos 35because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
I was [h]36in the Spirit on 37the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice 38like the sound of a trumpet,
saying, "39Write in a [i]book what you see, and send it to the 40seven churches: to 41Ephesus and to 42Smyrna and to 43Pergamum and to 44Thyatira and to 45Sardis and to 46Philadelphia and to 47Laodicea."
Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw 48seven golden lampstands;
and 49in the middle of the lampstands I saw one 50like [j]a son of man, 51clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and 52girded across His chest with a golden sash.
His head and His 53hair were white like white wool, like snow; and 54His eyes were like a flame of fire.
His 55feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His 56voice was like the sound of many waters.
In His right hand He held 57seven stars, and out of His mouth came a 58sharp two-edged sword; and His 59face was like 60the sun [k]shining in its strength.
When I saw Him, I 61fell at His feet like a dead man. And He 62placed His right hand on me, saying, "63Do not be afraid; 64I am the first and the last,
and the 65living One; and I [l]66was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have 67the keys of death and of Hades.
"Therefore 68write 69the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place 70after these things.
"As for the 71mystery of the 72seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the 73seven golden lampstands: the 74seven stars are the angels of 75the seven churches, and the seven 76lampstands are the seven churches.
